When you stand at the top of the Zena Crown Vineyard, a vista of rolling hills, vineyards and mountainsides lay before you. The precision and trellising are meticulous, providing the perfect environment for the classically styled Pinot Noir. To winemaker Shane Moore, if there’s one wine that represents the entire Zena Crown Vineyard, it’s the 2017 Vista. Aromas of bark cherry, heirloom strawberry, coffee, and turmeric lead into flavors of Timothy Hay, thimble berry, and cranberry sauce reduction on the palate. Satiny with underlying scratchy texture, like silk wrapped around a burlap bag, engulf the finish like a king wave over a rock jetty.
