At the Slope, the Zena Crown Vineyard shifts to face primarily south, encouraging perfect ripeness and maximum phenolic development. Symbolizing a dark winter’s night, Slope exhibits flavors of huckleberry, caramelized onion, cranberry, and Jory soil with aromas of beetroot, loganberry, and oyster mushroom. This wine has a personality of a very old soul in a young person’s body and reminds winemaker, Shane Moore, of sledding in fresh snow as a child under a full moon, far away from the nearest house, under the stars and far away from everything.
